October is Arab Heritage Month in San Francisco
It is Arab Heritage Month in San Francisco once again! This month, the Mayor’s office will hold an event at City Hall on October 26th from 5 to 7:30 pm and the ACCC invites all community members to get involved and get their voices heard. For more information, visit their website.
October is also Domestic Violence Awareness Month. From the sponsors: “During Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we recognize the significant achievements we have made in reducing domestic violence in America, and we recommit ourselves to the important work still before us. Despite tremendous progress, an average of three women in America die as a result of domestic violence each day. One in four women and one in thirteen men will experience domestic violence in their lifetime. These statistics are even more sobering when we consider that domestic violence often goes unreported.”
The ACCC’s Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault Education and Prevention program is a leading resource for case management, services and outreach in the Bay Area.
We strongly encourage all community members to give time, funds and support to community members in need. More information here.
